Hey all. Went out with a buddy to 3 new spots. Walked a 1/2 mile to the first spot, only to realize I hadn't checked the topographical maps. Yep, steep cliff sat between us and our hunting spot. Bummer. So, will have to try a new entry point, but may have to ask private land owners access through their properties to reach it. Such is the detecting life!

So, as I always have at least 2 spots to try, we headed to the second homesite. Overgrown entry made way to an amazing open area with a tree canopy. The first pic shows the area I dug the Indian head penny at. Very large tree behind me, but is sadly mostly concealed with brush.

I also grabbed a silver washington and an old token. Somehow I misplaced the token. I think it's in my find box, where I dump my junk finds. I will probably find that later. Or head back to the spot and refind it, lol.

Last spot was an overgrown ballfield that we will revisit in the winter. Good ending to a great, silver filled week - 7 silvers!

For a lot of diggers 7 silvers would be a great year!

Careful with the quarter. Lots of DDs in the series.

I'm assuming this means double die? If so, I did not know that - thank you!

Nice hunt! :icon_thumright:
That Indian Head Cent looks to be in pretty nice shape from that distance.
I like to carry a pair of bypass pruners to cut back the brush if I really want to reach a spot.

Thanks - it is in pretty good shape. That's a good idea, I usually just use my bare hands to tear things down. Not very efficient.
