AMONG OTHER THINGS, this weekend I picked up this sword cane.

It has a leather wrapped sheath stitched together. The handle of the sword is probably pewter (non-ferrous) and is shaped like a serpent/fish/dragon thing. The sword is single edged and fairly dull. There are no makers marks anywhere on the entire piece. It is obviously old but not in the best condition.

Any ideas on age, origin, and value?

Decided to try something different with this one. I dropped it off at a local auction house yesterday. It goes on the block on Monday so I am hoping for the best. A "cane expert" appraised it at $100 but the auctioneer told me "expect to get around $50". So, I will keep you posted for the results.
