What's the square holed piece with what look like shingles (or bricks) and a tied ribbon?

The farm fields are about 100 acres. It was a test. I have to brake them apart to do good sweep

Thanks ! The back of the button is plain. The spoons and fork had better times before they had been plowed several times. Some hot spots ,something to do
