Why don't you do beaches or parks? I am looking for old coins and silver coins.

I live in rural Mississippi, most of the parks here are post 1960-1970. There may be some older parks in bigger towns like Jackson but I'm couple hours from there. I look for old silver coins also but they are few and far between. My grandad jokingly told me that "no one around here had any money to drop, lose or bury, they were all just poor farmers". :). I haven't been detecting but about a year and a half so I've just been searching old farmsteads in the woods n fields trying to get better. I like the seclusion anyway , don't care for detecting with some rubberneckers or trouble makers watching me like I'm stealing something. :)

Yea I went to a old park here in N.Y. and people let their dogs run loose over 100 dogs I estimated. Every time I bend down to start diging theres a big dog in my face.

There are some,, I've found them, just not many. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, I don't know. I get really frustrated when I read or watch videos of people going to an old house site and finding a pocketful of old coins.

They are there just got to get your coil over them. I have found some in my yard and at fairgrounds where old horse race track was. I can walk down midway and pick up clad all day but I try to find the old areas. When I find wheats I know I'm in rite area. I just got the pro on Friday so I haven't found silver with it yet but it has found wheats already and a 66 Rosie. So close lol.

I know I can coin hunt but I really want to find a ring. I need to learn all the tones and dig the lower ones. So far I haven't had the time to really hunt with the pro. I need to get out and spend some time by myself with it.

Wow that's awesome I haven't counted mine yet but I doubt I have that much. One of the coolest things I've found was a crotal bell fro the 1800s at an old farm.

You have to remember that YouTube video's can be faked and stuff planted. Settings are not always right on as told too. Sometimes those making the video's have something to prove how good they are and like the recondition and "Atta Boys." But all information from video's should be taken with a couple grains of salt. Wish this wasn't true. I enjoy watching the video's on all the MD's.
