As I didn't detect today, this counts as my today find ;D I was catching up on house jobs & decided to clean one of the Roman Coins I found last Sunday. It was very crusty & by putting it on electrolysis for awhile I was hoping to get some detail. I left it for about 5 hours by mistake. When I got there the steel spoon was thick with gunk. When I took the coin out I was amazed at the detail left.
I've save it from going in my pile of scrappy roman coins, into my Album with a reverse type I need.
Wish I had taken a before shot, all I have is last weeks group shot.

Starting to look at my pile of thousands of Bronze Roman coins in a different light ::)

Having come in here, and ogled some of the finds, it jst makes me want to get out there and start digging again.
As soon as this business of mine settles down, and allows me some time to myself, I'll be out there.

I hope it settles down for you soon. I would be bongers already.

Gotta like that. Can I assume you'll be hitting a few more of those crustys with the electrolysis.

Wow, that is an amazing difference. I may have to zap some of my old copper coins as well. Amazing difference there.

You are one lucky SOB. I've seen people, (my self included), destroy relics in way shorter periods of time. Your posts still make me want to reinstate my English heritage. And I'm Irish.
