Hi all;
Here where i live we have the largest Morton Bay Fig tree in the US. Google Morton Bay fig tree Santa Barbara. tree.jpg They have HUGE roots , some three feet tall ! hqdefault.jpg
Got out and went between all the roots today.Pulled $12.42 in clad , a bus token (still good!) a Canadian pennie , a wheat pennie and the rest of the crap. mt.jpg

That is an excellent hunt. That's an old tree. There has to be some silver under all that clad. People have been seeking shade under that tree for many, many years.

That is an excellent hunt. That's an old tree. There has to be some silver under all that clad. People have been seeking shade under that tree for many, many years.

I once pulled a Barber dime from the grassy area next to the tree.

I once pulled a Barber dime from the grassy area next to the tree.

It looks like the roots engulf everything around the tree. Iโ€™m betting much of the early relics dropped are in the root system now.

That tree is the find of the day.
Would love to just take a nap among the roots and the shade...
Reminds me of the Freedom Tree of Missouri Texas..

Thats odd. My dad always told me money didn't grow on trees ! Guess he didn't think to dig in the ground around the tree ! That is one huge tree. Congrats on your finds.
