the "Mushroom Bank"

Just thought i'd share an architectural treasure with all of you. Near by is a a bizarre 1960's bank locally known as the "mushroom bank". You can clearly see why in the pics! There about a dozen of those giant mushrooms scattered around the property, 5 of which hold up the bank building itself! I would have taken a pic of the building but there was a guard outside that may not have been to happy with me! So here are a few pics of me standing under the columns ...they're actually called dendriform columns. Enjoy!

I'm with you. The unfortuanate thing is that they'll get torn down in the name of progress and then you'll really see how much they were notcied by folks when the ask "What happened to the mushrooms?"
