I was out in a field trying to learn the sounds of my newly bought detector (10 yrs ago). I had no idea what I was doing. I had'nt learned how to pinpoint too good.I'm digging and digging and not finding nothing.I was using a tablespoon as my digger. It was my 3rd day digging, don't laugh. Anyway,it turns out this was on the side wall of the hole I was digging around 5 1/2 inches down. Not my best find, but one of my more memorable ones.
Good Luck,Mike

That IS a beautiful large cent. :o

I remember my first large cent. I dug it up.....just started screaming and jumping up and down. I didn't even have to look at it and I knew it was a coin not in circulation anymore. :D
