Afternoon everyone that is hang out.

Got to watch the funnest thing this morning with the young hens (5 small eggs so far today :headbang:).
So this hen is in the corner, making the nest down into the wood chips, goes around and around an I'm watching 8 others all crowding around watching her. Geez it was a live instructional on this is how you lay an egg.:laughing7:

Hard to get any serious work done when I'm there watching the watchers. This is starting to into the daily egg hunt, seems like there's a few that just want to pick any old spot to lay, and not in the 10 laying boxes. :dontknow:

Maybe the first one is a where ever and from then on they pick a box.

Wonder if they are betting on who can lay the biggest egg?

With young hens , I put plastic /fake eggs in the boxes in the beginning. Singles.

Was the corner chosen to drop an egg shaded?
Shade might be a factor in box use. (?)

Been incommunicado this weekend as I've been helping my wife get through her first bout of debilitating, searing back pain and today I'll take her to her doc. Finally got her some muscle relaxers yesterday that made the night bearable for her...
Back in the '80's I was t-boned in my Jeep CJ7, rolled over 3 times which resulted in a broken wrist and a twisted back.
My back often goes out resulting to sciatic pain, and most muscle relaxers and pain pills help relieve some of the pain.
AARP recommended this product for back and sciatic pain- MAGNIlife ARNICA Pain Relief Gel.
Using it in conjunction with the prescribed meds really relieves the that constant pain.
Its available at Walgreens, Pete, and your wife should give it a try.

Time to get down and boogie.
Toni Basil and Karen Black played the working girls at Madame Tinkertoy's House and the New Orleans cemetery acid trop scenes in EASY RIDER with Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper.
*NOTE* Fonda based his and Hoppers characters on Roger McGuinn and David Crosby of the BYRDS.

We've been using Arnica for 25 yrs now. Have found if I take a hit to the body applying it in the first 12 hrs, then again the next day resolves the issue.
Also through the study of mostly alternative medicine it has to be 25% or more active ingredient.
I have had local herbalists do a heavier concentrations.
Bottom line-it works.

Roger,

Certainly looks tasty. Well as time moves on me and the missus certainly don't eat as much as before back in the 1980's we used to frequent a seafood market and pick up 10 lbs of wild mussels for like 29 cents per lb.

It was a pain though because we'd have to soak them in salted water with corn meal and change a couple of times over 24 hours to get all the silt out of them.

We'd pretty much eat about 3/4 quarters of them in one setting. Today we share 2 lbs of cultivated ones and that's plenty along with a side salad and crusty bread.
