rook mid 40's here as a high but colder weather tonight and snow in the forecast.
Glad I sprung for a high end pair of winter boots and got some merino wool socks on order to keep the footsies warm. That's why I'm glad I rescued the cat this morning she's more than likely been sleeping in an abandoned building for several months.

I do admit the cold weather wears a bit thin as we get older though.

Yep, same here but the cold stuff is coming. I know bill is laughin. I hate the cold the older I get.

"Baby Boy ,(bulldog) barked at midnight when put out back for a potty time.
Now...Bulldogs don't bark much so I should have studied why instead of suspecting a neighbors cat out back.

Anyways...This morning I wheeled around the side of the house to find a garden hose/ nozzle cracked (from freezing) and it had been spraying water all night.
Apparently someone did not shut off the frost free hydrant.
Sigh.
Winter is here apparently.

Don't know how many of you have adopted abandoned cats, dogs or other animals. I have to tell you it gives you a great feeling to see them enjoying the first comfort and security in a long time.

I'm back, broken and exhausted. My dad killed a ten point, and wouldn't you know it, it went down into a ravine. It took an hour or two of hands and knees dragging it up the hill, which was no easy task, considering it was a 200 pounder.

RR,

Well you'll enjoy the meat all that much more.

You didn't just carry it? l.o.l..

I'd had to have quartered it.

Have used a large self built snatch block and multiple ropes to snake one out of a swamp with the truck ....
The last one I sat down and pulled the rope hand over hand till the truck was in reach of the rope.
Antlers caught under a tag alder tree can cause some resistance ,even using a truck. l.o.l..
