Evening all. This is my searching for the last 12 days or so. Not very productive as far as silver but nickels remain good. Thanks for reading.

3/3/11- Stopped at 4 banks today.
#1- I bought 1 box of halves(garda) 1-64,2-40%ers
#2-I deposited one bag of halves and bought 1 box of nickels(Brinks)
#3- Asked at another bank but they were in the middle of proving out their drawers. Bad timing on my part.
#4-Bought another box of nickels(Brinks)
1st box- Dateless 'S' mint buffalo,1992 1 Krone from Danmark, 1 super smooth nickel(looks like it was intentionally polished down)
2nd box- Dateless buffalo,2 war nickels(1942-S,1943-S) and 3 modern Canadian nickels

3/4/11- I made 5 bank stops after work.
#1- Went to pick up box from 1st bank, they forgot to order so i bought $100 in dimes(garda)(skunk)
#2- Bought 3 boxes from 2nd bank(garda). 1st box was a skunk, 2nd box had 1-40%er(1968-D),3rd box had 1-64 and 4-40%ers.All 3 boxes were stamped with #4375.
#3- Bought $40 in nickels(garda). There were (2-20 pence coins 1991,2004) and 1 canadian (1989) No war or buffalo
#4- Bought $10 in cents. There were (20 common wheats and 4 common Canadian)
#5- Deposited 1 bag of halves

3/5/11- Did some more bank hopping after work. I bought or dumped at 9 different banks.
#1- Used penny arcade
#2- Bought a box of dimes and cents(Brinks). The dimes had 1 silver(1951) and the cents had 12 wheats(a weak date 1918-S,2-1919,1937 and the balance 40s and 50s. There were also 5 canadian, oldest 1963(2)
#3,#4,#5- Asked at 3 different banks within stone's throw of each other for halves. None had any, one had just sold all his a couple of day's earlier.
#6-Stopped at the bank that I scored the six solid rolls of silver awhile back. They didn't have any more customer rolls but had a box that someone ordered and never picked up. She sold it to me. The box had no silver. There was a nickel and a quarter mixed in though.
#7-Used penny arcade and pulled a nice variety of coins off the magnet including a 1935 Canadian nickel.
#8-Bought $10 in cents(mostly customer)(1978 Barbados cent, 3 wheats, 3 canadian)
#9-Bought a box of nickels and quarters(Brinks) The quarter box had no silver, the nickel box had 2 wars(1942-S,1943-P)

3/6/11-No Activity

3/7/11-Bought a box of nickels and cents(brinks). The nickel box produced 1 war nickel(1945-P),1 dateless D mint buffalo,1994 Bermuda 5 cents, and a 1987 Canadian. The cent box produced 31 wheats(none pre-1930) and 5 common canadian cents. Picked up $100 in mixed dime rolls(customer and garda)(skunk)(2 foreign coins, a 2008 Canadian dime and a 1991 five pence)

3/8/11-Dumped at penny, then picked up $80 in nickels from 2 different banks(garda, no war or buffalo)

3/9/11-1 box of halves(garda)(skunk). Deposited one bag of halves and bought a box of nickels(garda) at another bank. The box had a Sep 2006 date stamp on it and was full of 2006 nickels(It even had 'NEW" stamped on the side of the box, i didn't see this until later). Bought $10 in cents(garda) at another bank stop, it had 7 common wheats and 2 canadian.

3/10/11-Bought a box of halves(garda)(skunk) and then deposited a $500 bag at another bank. They didn't get there shipment in yet so they couldn't spare any boxes, said to come by this weekend and they would have boxes to sell me. I picked up a box of nickels(brinks) from another branch(1945-D). I had time to stop at one more branch. They couldn't sell me a box of nickels because it was after 6 but he had no problem selling me $100 in loose rolls(Brinks). They produced a 1993 100 Lire,a 1983 Bermuda five cents, and 4 buffalo nickels(1927,1934,1937,1937).

3/11/11-Bought a box of halves(garda)(skunk)and $100 in dimes(garda) from my 1st bank stop and then deposited a $500 bag at another bank. I stopped at 1 more bank on the way to my other pickup bank and bought $100 in dimes(garda)(1958 Rosie between the $200). Picked up my 3 boxes of halves(garda) and also bought $10 in customer rolled cents. The halves all had the same stamp
of #3475. 1st box had 2-64s, 2nd box had 1-64, and the 3rd box was a skunk. The cents had 5 wheats and 2 Canadians.

3/12/11-Used penny arcade, then picked up a box of nickels at each of three other banks. One of the banks even traded the new box of 2006s minus a few rolls for another box, i paid the difference in cash. 1st box had 1-war nickel(1944-P),2nd box had a 1944-P,1945-P, dateless buffalo(last roll), and a 2006 Canadian, and the 3rd box was partially searched(no keepers as of yet).

3/13/11- No CRHing activity. Did some metal detecting for the 1st time this year with Relic Rick.

3/14/11-Had to fix a water problem so no searching today

3/15/11- Withdrawl setting in so i picked up a box of quarters, dimes, nickels and cents.(All Brinks)
Quarter box(1957)(my oldest silver quarter out of a roll)
Dime box(1944-S Merc)
Nickel box(1945-P war nickel,1982 Canadian,1995 Bermuda five cents)
I went to finish the 3rd nickel box from the other day. One nickel caught my eye. I got out the magnifier and looked at the year,1950. Could it be? I turned it over and saw what we all hope to see for that year, a 'D' mintmark! It's worn but definitely a keeper. I let out a big YES, it's my first 1950-D! ;D
Cent box had 26 wheats(oldest 1939),11 Canadian(oldest 1964) and 1 clad dime

That's all for now. Thanks for reading and good luck everyone. MM2

Very nice week in my opinion, those nickel and penny boxes are very fun to search through. How do you make out on average with silver quarters? (ratio of silver quarters to boxes)... How about dimes? (ratio of dimes to boxes)...

My record for dimes is 2:3 (2 dimes for 3 boxes)
Have not done quarters yet... (trying to get an idea, possibly may try a box of quarters...)

Thanks Apush, my searching is down a little lately because of other things. That 1950-D made my day though. ;D

I would average 1 silver quarter every other box. Dimes are maybe 1 per box but 1 good box could really bring those averages up. You just never know.

Congratulations on the 50-D and the other pickups...the 35 Candian is cool. You seem to do very well consistently on the nickels.

The half dollar finds are getting harder to come by...seems as though the finite stock is getting fished out.
