It started snowing here in Southwest Virginia at 0330 hrs. I just ran my truck down my driveway (a kilometer long) to keep a path open. Right now we've about 6" and snowing hard. Depending on where you look I'm seeing predictions between 15" and 30".

I'll be running my truck up and down the driveway about every hour into the evening - can't be snowed in here, Mom will be 90 in April.

a Power Outage is the Only thing that will get me to bed tonight.

otherwise I'll be up in case I need to act fast.

If the power goes Out I won't be able to see anything but Black up Here :tongue3:

Though Weather Underground says 5" to 8" for Saturday only.
the Weather channel says 5" to 8" tonight before Midnight then another 8" to 12" tomorrow.
I doubt they mean 12" Total from the 2 days.

according to one Harrisburg weather channel I'm here & somewhat Comfortable with all But the Power
outage possibility :tongue3:

Yes, mine does too down here = confusing... So, I guess I can expect 15" and get clobbered with 30". Either one sucks, but 30" I won't be able to get out.

I just made another run down the driveway. About an hour ago when I did the first run the snow was coming down pretty heavy. This trip a very light and fine snow, very little accumulation in the hour between runs. I took my tape measure and we're sitting at 5" right now. I'd sure like it to stay that way.

Good luck everyone!

Won't be any plowing my Driveway & being I only have rear wheel Drive on my Explorer.
I'll be sitting till a serious Melt
unless someone with a plow gets Generous :(

I'm debating on Shoveling because of My Health, But thinking about maybe making a Trip out the sidwalk
and out front, once every hour'ish & try to cut down on Weight that way.
Of course the winds may make that a waste too .

Time for Summer

TWC just backed off on our predicted snowfall here. 5-8" today, and 5-8" tonight, and an inch tomorrow. Snowing real heavy out there right now.

Either it is leaving us more quickly heading your way, or the snowfall amounts will be much less for us all. From worst case 30" to 16" total is quite a change for here.

Seriously, I think all you easterners should just pack up and move to Minnesota. We have had far better winter weather and fewer storms than you all for the last few years. And if we do get a good snow storm, we can clean it up and get moving within a day. If not inclined to move, then sell your gold and get yourself a snowblower to dig yourself out (over and over again).

And, they still make cars with only rear wheel drive??

they Just upped our amounts 8" to 12" is now 8" to 14"

however since the highest amounts are to the south, I don't see where that will affect me
unless like the other Harrisburg station suggests there will be a band come up through
right over top of Me :(

they did say Dry snow for awhile then Wet Snow Then more Dry snow.
& with the winds the Lighter Dry may be a good thing & blow away

You have room to Land the TreasureNet Company Jet ? :laughing7:

My explorer originally was 4 Wheel Drive. The Front Pumpkin went bad.
And the Thousand dollar bill on a 99 Explorer,
to Replace it convinced me to just stay 2 & live with the
consequences.
