Man, I am really liking this detector! It is nicely balanced and swings really well, and with the recovery speed I can swing as fast as I like and cover allot of ground.
Anyway I got out for a quick hunt Sunday evening, the same area I found the Barber Half on Saturday. Like I said any time you come away from there with one keeper is a good day. Well I dug two Mercury head dimes at a solid 8 to 9 inches, and the detector hit hard on them. The dates are 1936 and 1945-D. Then I hit a 1911 wheat and a 1902 Indian Head in the same hole, from around 5 inches. Then pulled three more wheats 1941, 1944 and 1945, all from 5 to 7 inches and three modern coins.
I was using disc and notch at 16, the DE process mode, sensitivity at 60, auto ground balance around 65. The dimes hit around 70 to 73. The Indian Head hit at 63 which is about the same as a zinc, new users keep this in mind, older nickels (16 to mid to upper 20's on the ID) and IH cents (somewhere between square tab and zinc) will probably read lower due to ground action. The same is true on many other detectors though.
Keep up the great finds folks!
