This JUNE is going to BUG me if things stay GLOOMY. EE's Monthly Thread

So I did 107 rolls of CWR Dimes to start off June and I was skunked. I have about $50-$75 worth of nickles to do tonight and some garage sale finds to add into the mix once I get back from some much needed fishing and relaxation.

I hear ya June hasn't been good to me last year either. Hoping my 9 half dollar boxes this week don't add to my current 12 box skunk streak. Good luck buddy.

Nothing at Friday auction

Saturday auction that was right around the corner from my house netted me a $100 bill found sitting on the ground and then I proceeded to purchase said items below. I missed out on many items but rest assured I brought them up to melt price so the new owners cant melt and make a profit. There was thousands of dollars of silver there, 2-3k worth. I made everyone pay out the butt. Like the lot of sterling goblets that came in at 170.8 grams ea. I made the lady pay $105 ea for them. Sadly a few thieves in the bunch stole some items and some people got screwed.

Saturday netted me a total of 26 oz of silver, I cant complain. The year isnt even half over and I am currently basically 41 oz away from my yearly goal.

June CRH seems to be going good for now.

In march I had a 16 box skunk stream and then in April I followed it up with a 25 skunk boxes. I know your pain.

Do you get all your boxes from one bank? That is how I do it, all from one source but from 3 different branches of one bank, that seemed to do good for me.

Off of work today, apparently I am now allergic to some sort of pollen. My supervisor seems to think its honeysuckle as his allergies started up on Friday like mine, I was near useless yesterday from the runny nose and sneezing and the coughing etc kept me awake most of the night so I took my first sick day since 2005. Its funny, Shingles didnt keep me from work ( my uncle said he would sooner have another double lung transplant than shingles again ) but a honeysuckle allergy does.

One of my pick up banks let me know their bag of halves is up to the $700 mark so when it fills they will sell it to me, I told them I would likely come in next week and fill it myself and get it off their hands.

Box 1: 4/40%

Fridays auction doesnt look promising, I will likely stop by, put a few bids on things and go fishing.

Saturday I have 3 auctions to go to, possibly 4, I dont recall.

Auctions didnt really pan out too well for me this week either. Just not a lot there, but this next weekend/week looks promising.

Friday - Jewelry locally.
Saturday - Lots of Costume Jewelery locally
Sunday - Estate Auction ( where I get some major scores from part 7 or 8 of 20 )
Thursday - Box Lot Auction from the Estate Auction, more major scores to be found.

From auction this week I found...

1 - Merc Dime Flattened (0.0723)
4 - Philippine 10 Centavo coins (0.1446)
2 - Philippine 20 Centavo coins (0.1928)

At least CRH is looking better than this time last year.

HH

Everyone has the time, its only 3 or 4 hours out of your day, sometimes it can only be 30 minutes out of your day if they run specific things at specific times. One auction I go to, they run coins and jewelry at 8:30pm so I know when to get to the auction house. Many times there are other things mixed in with the lots or I want to keep an eye on who is there etc. I have created a little network of people at different auctions now. Some will call me when they find something I am into to let me know and I do the same for them.

Whats interesting is the lower population at the auctions this year compared to last. People are not showing up in quanities that they did last year and that is leading to some cheaper prices for me. Hoping it continues, I would not mind being a year ahead of my goals by the end of the year. I think my 20 year goal was started too late and I really have 5-10 years to accomplish as much as possible.

Went to part 8 of the estate auction, not much there this time around, a few item I was interested in when for way too much. Some guy bought 13 flats of costume jewelery for $65 ea, or $845. There was maybe $20-30 worth of value in those flats when it comes to precious metals.

some other items were sold and then a final flat came around, he gave an opening bid of $300 on it. Poor guy has more money than brains. I started laughing at that point, it was ridiculous.

After wasting 5 hours there with nothing to show for it, I hit a garage sale on the way home and scored me some 14k earrings weighing in at 1 gram for 50 cents. At least I made something from the trip besides a good laugh.

2 boxes due middle of the week and 5 due on Friday.

Two boxes done today, both skunks.

5 more due on Friday to end the week.

Tomorrows box lot auction was canceled due to no one showing up to the previous auction. The auction was labeled as Christmas in June, all Xmas decorations, 12 people showed, should not have been too surprised by it lol.

Auction on Friday looks a little promising but wont know more until then.

Saturday is two auctions, one being a coin auction. The listing is somewhat promising as most the people there dont go above melt on many items. With the prices being so low, I may go above melt on them and snatch them up. Several foreign coins I hope to get for cheap too.

Coin auction netted me nothing, at least Friday was a good day.

June ended much better this year, hoping next month sees me to my yearly goal.

Friday auction went alright, most of the stuff I wanted went early so I was able to go fishing, I ended up leaving before some other stuff sold just because it would take too long to get to it.

Spent a whole $2 on a single box full of dirty, dusty and even rat pooped goodies. I dont think anyone dare stick their hands into the box, I did and I won.
