So today I walk into my regular dump bank, just like I do every single Monday. No one in the bank, so I just go up to the merchant teller because shes the one who deals with coins. Anyways, I give her my bags, and start the small talk. She says she has to go in the back for a second... I think to myself, alright whatever. 10 minutes later, YES 10 MINUTES, she comes back and says, do you have a deposit slip? I answer no (I've never brought in a deposit slip before). Anyways she starts to lecture me on how my business is unqualified, not real, and how I'm not supposed to have these privileges on my account. I looked at her and said, how the hell are you going to tell me I can't do bag dumps? for all you know I could have an arcade, casino, laundry matt, etc. She replies with, we all know what you do, its no secret, your accounts beyond us now being reviewed and may get canceled. ME: So someone who doesn't know me is judging me account? Her:Yes ME: How do they know what I do and don't do?! Her: People like you have been through here before and all their accounts have been canceled (CRHStreetwalker) ME: Haha, I'll be back Wednesday to make my drop and talk to your manager Her: Enjoy it while it last

So now I'm supper heated

I call my business accountant who works at a bring 15 minutes from this one. He knows what I do, no reason trying to hide it. He pretty much said that it was crazy talk and he would look into it and call the branch and stuff. So now I am awaiting for him to call me back.

So my question is, anything like this happen to anyone else before? Any tips and advice? Especially from the big hunters like TimZim?

Ill keep you guys updated

Try other branches of the same bank. When I encounter a branch on either the supply or dump side that has staff that give me a hard time, I just avoid that branch and use ones with the nice staff. Most of the bank employees that I deal with go out of their way to help me, so it's a rarity that I run into a mean one. Rather than having an argument with them you are much better off just avoiding the tough ones since they can end up causing trouble with your relationship with the whole chain.

Update: Talked to my business accountant person, he said the account had no issues what so ever and that the other branch lied to me because they probably didn't like my volume. He said lay low for a little and everything will be fine -_-

I hate the big mega banks, no problems raping the entire country and making people homeless, but when it comes to actually helping customers(being courteous? as is their saying no?), naaa they cant do that... I hate WF especially...

I have a problem with a pickup bank(small local bank), I got my acct closed for over drawn by 20 bucks, and I never knew about it, but I paid it off, and they wont re-open my account because they know I want to order halves as well... Their MINIMUM order was 4 boxes, then they got all pissy after 3 weeks of me doing it... i mean wtf? Bunch of crooks

This is going to come out a lot harsher than perhaps it should, but IMO you need to lose the attitude. You have to realize that without a business account, they're basically doing us a favor by letting us dump, particularly if you're doing any kind of volume. The moment you start taking that for granted is usually when you learn the hard way.

Not meant as an attack, just advice.

I must have missed it, how much volume is he doing?

Like how much per week at the same branch?

I could see 3-4k+ per week being too much.

I try to stay around 2k tops per branch per week.

I'm enrolled in the program, I am (without restraint) allowed 2-3 bags 2-3 times a week. I have been brining this branch 2 bags every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday for the past few weeks.

Sounds like a lot IMO, especially if a bag is $1k.

You can and you should may be two different things, especially with older and weaker tellers.

your decision on whether to view the branches/banks as an entity that owes you something vs. tellers that are helping you out will ultimately determine the sustainability of this hobby for you. The "banks" decide policy, interest rates, who to loan money to etc., but it's the tellers that make this hobby possible. They are the ones who have to lug the heavy boxes around, put extra coins on their orders, and then deal with the dumped coins in their vault. This is extra work for them. They are not the ones getting bailed out by the government, I bet like everyone else they make less money over time.

My point is here that if you treat the tellers like they're doing you a favor, you will be able to dump longer with no problems. I do 2 boxes a week per branch tops. If one week they're having a particularly bad week, I don't go back there for a week or two to let things cool off. If they hint their vault is filling up, I take a few weeks off. There are plenty of branches out there, but they will dry up fast if you start getting cut off. Honestly, If I was a teller and could sense the attitude you've portrayed here, I would cut you off too.

I bring them donates every other Saturday. I always ask if they have room before I dump. I'm not sure what else I could do? I always have a positive attitude when I go In there, and I didn't disrespect anyone

Look up the VP of the bank or ask your accounting friend. Tell the no-good-lieing-two-faced-tella you are good friends with VP, and she had better treat you right the next time or her job is on the line.

EDIT: wear a nice suit, with the raybans hanging off, so she gets the impression you are "made of money", and here on serious business and mean serious business.

I think what you have encountered is something grey, not black or white. You mentioned that you've been doing this for "weeks", try to understand that it takes months if not longer to cultivate long term relationships. The tellers are the foot soldiers for the "man". They are the people that will break or make your hobby. I have had things like this happen to me, I've thought... I haven't done anything wrong, why are they picking on me or singling me out. Unfortunately you are at there mercy. Try asking them what you could do to make this more smooth for them. Short of them saying "don't come here" try to do accommodate them. If they say don't come here I would ask to speak to a manager and explain your story. See where the animosity is coming from. I have found that people in large companies don't like it when you go over there heads. Go up the chain of command until you get a answer that is to your liking. From what I've read you are a high school "kid" (no negativity implied) explain that to the top of the chain if you get there. Say... Look I'm trying to do something that is productive and make some money on the side. What could I do to make it less of a burden on your branch.
I don't mean to preach... It's my 2 post 82 cents.

most of what we do (crhing) costs the banks time, money and effort. The only time we an asset to a branch is if you find a branch that gets a lot of CWR in and by buying it you save them from having to pay to send it out. I have a few of those branches, and they are all smiles when I come in.

What is nice about our hobby is that banks don't charge us (mostly) for the services they provide us. I buy and dump on average $3000-5000 a week in coin, without fees. Dealing with tellers/branches that resist are activity is part of the game.

The way I look at crh is.. Yes, we are the banks customers. The banks are a business, and like a business they are in it for the money. Most accounts I have I let the bare minimum for a free account sit there untouched. The bank may make a few cents interest on it, while I cost them much more money then they are making off me. Why wouldn't a business think about taking away a service that's a privilege to the customer to save money? Once the tellers get annoyed with all the extra work they now have they'll complain to their manager, who looks at his computer and sees you have $50 bucks in a checking acct that you haven't made a deposit into in months, while you are costing the bank over $50 a month for services.

Acting like a bank owes you anything is the wrong way to go about it. I'm not much older then you but I believe our generation is referred to as the "entitlement generation" , sad but I witness it a lot.
