Stopped by a old cottage site on way home from work today. It was leveled in the 60's. Found a few Wheats and this Match Cover. IMAG0522.jpg
After cleaning it a I could read initials. (D.S. Jr.)
IMAG0523.jpg
The inside has the dates 1907-1928, guess someone died pretty young and picture was kept in it.

Ended up with makers mark, Tiffanys and Co. Sterling and 14k.

Congrats on digging and posting that unique piece. Treasure for sure. Now you got me thinking of the dates.

Ohhh, that should have some value to it. New Tiffany silver can be expensive, no reason why that won't.
Please keep us posted!
Kudos,
Carl
And I just noticed that it's also 14kt!
Searching as I write this....

What's the size, weight?
Also, can you show a photo of all of the inside?

And I'm also thinking that it should be Banner material. 1930-40's Tiffany silver and gold anything... yeah!
I'm seeing prices around $200-600, but they look like they may have a little more length.
Is it about the size of a cigarette case?

Was about 6" deep. Baking soda cleaned up most the patina on the silver.
Can't weigh it, scale is packed away at the moment. After seeing how big the matches are. I'm leaning towards a picture holder.
