Tobacco shop token - anyone ever seen one in a token book?

nice find, the stamps into the coin/disc appear to be old clay pipes like used in the late 1700s, very common in England along the Thames River, I have not seen that many like shown (pipes not tokens) in the USA of that type, with the little leg bump on the bottom. appears to have been made by a single stamp done multiple times to make the "wheel" pattern, i.e. a single stamp of a clay pipe.

yeah because of fairly remote country side where I found this - I was thinking that it must be from England. Thanks for the info on clay pipes. The 1723 '2 reales' I found was about 100 feet from this token's location.

yeah that was me Jeff - found 01-01-2005 during milder Jan weather.
Why I think it got to 55F by afternoon but was cold by dark and the Minelab was
starting to complain by day's end due to temps.
I posted it back then on here and fairly quickly someone e-mailed me wanting to buy it.
