I am a member of these sites on yahoo groups....called things like "cheapcycle" and stuff like that....basically a site where people sell or give away stuff to avoid them going to the land fill. Anyway.....there was an ad posted today someone selling a metal detector for her grandma....no brand or anything....just metal detector $30/obo. Of course...you cant have too many detectors so I called about it and went to check it out. This is a like new condition King Cobra from 1989. From what I have read they were...for their price range...the top selling detector for 5 years. Pretty cool back up.....or for a buddy to use. It has an auto pinpoint that I am not used to...but like. She didnt have batteries for it to show it worked...so she said she'd take $20 for it....with the stereo headphones.....I call that a sweet bargain!

Yep....takes 8 AA's and works like a charm! I was afraid of possible corrosion in the battery pack...but it still looks new.
