Have no idea how it ended up in American soil ,would be an interesting story tho ! It read lower than an ate zinc-olin penny around 30 on the E-Tracs conductive scale. Glad that it was unearthed and made an other wise regular coin shooting day great =)

It's from Austria. Schillings were the currency of Austria until adoption of the euro in 2002. Before they were removed from circulation a lot were hoarded by collectors. At the exchange rate in effect in 2002, one schilling was worth about a dime.

P.S. Looks like the coin is 91.5 % copper and 8.5% aluminum according to the site below.

Hi Msbeepbeep , thanks :headbang: Yeah got into a massive penny spill yesterday, dug 63 copper pennies of those 1 was wheat 2 were Canadians . Spent several hours just cherry picking it. I will have to hit the area some more today if time allows.
