Today's Finds and My New Toy

My finds for the day consisted of NOTHING.... Well I did find some clad at a house site, but nothing old for the day, so it didn't excite me at all. So even I get skunked every now and then, haha.

But when I got home from work I found my new toy sitting on my front porch!

I tested it out a bit on my carpet with the floor boards being full of nails. It nulled out until it went over a coin, gold, or silver piece that I placed down there. I was very impressed.

Nice! I have been toying around with the idea of getting an Excal but would want to use it on land as well as in water. I hear they're pretty heavy for land use.

You can get a balanced straight shaft that makes it easier on the arms for hunting on land or at the beach. It puts the electronics and battery pod at the rear of the shaft.

Yup... I had to get the best of both worlds, so I figured I would get an Excalibur to compliment my Explorer.

Now I just need to wait for my long handled scoop to get here so that I have something to dig with. I have one of those eBay sand scoops that cost about $20 or so and they aren't worth jack. It broke after just a weeks use last winter on my trip to Florida. It could still handle some dry sand, but it's definately not made for the wet sand.

Hopefully I can make some good finds with my new toy!
