Today’s finds xx

Ahh the day has finally come, they have planted our fields 😭… so we are back to the grass fields for a while now, I had forgotten how messy digging plugs in water logged fields was 😳 xx So apologies in advance our finds now will be hard won and few and far in between…. But when the views are this beautiful it’s not so bad! 😍

First up a shoe buckle, then a tiny bit, 2 buttons, 2 musket balls, dumb bell shot, little dog tag, hook, then a possible button, Has a crown but the back shows no sign of the usual stump? So not to sure! xx

It was a beautiful spring day today, blue skies and warm…. Could winter be finally over🤔 xx

At least you still have options. I can't see them Spring drilling with how wet the fields are at the moment, so we might get a longer window. I've always said what is bad for the farmers is normally good for us.

It’s rained every day this week up here so honestly surprised they got it done, but we can’t complain we have had an amazing 4 months in those fields. Back to reality now… and soon we will have to split our weekends between detecting and gardening spring Is springing! xx

I hope so. I'll be over there in about 3 weeks to detect and hate slopping around in the mud!

Ahh that’s brilliant… I wish everyone could come over! 😆 xx himself has worked on the Estate for 40 years and has never known so much surface water everywhere 😬 at Least the days are getting longer soon be able to do evening detecting 😆 xx

We can see the outline of a head facing left when tilted towards the light…now on that side.. 🤔… so will hand it over to himself and task him with getting an id! xx thanks Peps xx
