Todays march through the soy fields where a few old home sites were produced:

A Bent spoon that appears to be copper

A piece of an old lock

A Piece of a skeleton key

The trigger from an old rifle

A valve (I assume from a barrel of heating oil)

And finally in a different area a 1940 wheatie.

Eh... not the best day there (fields been known to let go of 3 centers and other nice silvers), but not a bad day for relics. Oh, and not pictured is a slab of lead drop from a confederate camp site.

Cool finds cryptodave, the valve look like a small gas cock but could really be used for anything. Congrats on the finds.

Hey, a rusty relic is better than a silver dime, IMO. Good that you gave it a try. Congrats.
