Fortunate that the snow turned to rain early yesterday and melted all the snow. Started off warm, but by the end of the day was freezing my butt off. Couldn't feel my toes or finger tips.

Found about 7 wheats, one 1881 IH, my third silver quarter 1935, 1 Merc dime 1927, 1 Buffalo nickle, gold pendant with the name DAVE on the front and LOVE TONI on back and the marking 375, which I think means gold? I think a flattened three ring musket bullet. I believe a Tombac Dandy button? A collar cuff. Not sure about the iron? :dontknow:
Not sure if the last two images are a button? :icon_scratch:

There's actually some quick calculations you can take to figure out the karat because sometimes you will see just numbers like 375, 417, 585 and 750 instead of karat markings. The way is to divide various karat amount over 24 (24 is equal to pure gold - 24k). These numbers show the percentage of pure gold in the item.

9k = 9/24 = .375 (37.5%)
10k=10/24=.417 (41.7%)
12k=12/24=.500 (50%)
14k=14/24=.585 (58.5%)
18k=18/24=.750 (75%)

And of course, sterling can also be designated by the ubiquitous 925

Kinda looks like the NON handle side of an old ice cream maker (the hand cranked style)...
