Tonights coppers.

Had a chance to go to a place that has been pounded before. Got lucky and pulled out two coppers. I'm trying to clean but I don't think its going to work. The Large cent was sounding like a clad quarter on the surface and then this pops out only an inch under the ground! I couldn't believe it!

That is 13 inches shallower than the one I dug on Thursday! I think you are right about the cleaning on the first, the second one looks like it has more hope!

Nice finds!! The best large cent i have ever found was 1"in the ground!! Turns out the owners of the house had turned the old detached summer kitchen into a den.. and had dug out some of the dirt from the cellar and spread it in the yard... the coin was in that dirt... just the most perfect detail and nice green patina... I thought for sure it was a new quarter when I hit it....

stick them into a whole brown potatoe it will clean the junk off check every couple of hours
