Too many first's to list...but I'll try.
What a great weekend with a couple of friends. For probably 3 years I have heard about this great spot that Schloopy (John) and Ridgerunner (Scott) have hunted off and on, so at this years CTH I got a little more serious about getting them to let me join them one time and boy did that cost me a lot of beers.....lol. Finally this weekend (one of the coldest on record, I think) we all meet and hunted hard. We started at about 9:30 pm friday night and hunted until about 2 or 2:30 in the am. (My first night hunt). Got back up at 5:30 Saturday morning and hunted until approximately 4:30 Saturday evening. Finally I was able to talk them into a decent night sleep and we again hunted Sunday morning. There was several coins taken and several items. I will let Scott and John post there finds. I was able to get away with the following items.
1. 1905 O barber dime (first)
2. 1908 Indian
3. 1902 Indian
4. looks like laying pennies on the railroad track was fun back then too as I found a Indian head penny which was squished by a train I believe. There are some tracks close. (first)
5. Eagle button (first)
6. And saving the best for last.....I found a gold initial ring which looks like it from the same era.
Other than these items there was a ton of scrap taken in and a ton of good times with a couple of friends had.
