I thought my daughter had given me the flu since all day Saturday i felt like near death. But i woke up today feeling a little better and by 11 i decided to go out and take my son along with me. It was his first time out Metal Detecting with daddy and he was very excited to find some toys in the dirt. We didn't find any toys but did find some great relics and my first Store Token! The Store token was made 1845-1857 it says(SMITH MURPHY & Co PHILAD; 97 MARKET ST.) on the obverse and (FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC DRY GOODS) on the reverse. His totals for the day were 7 pine cones, a dozen rocks, and a deer antler shed. My totals were the Store Token, near perfect Spencer bullet, very tiny CW Pistol bullet?, GS Eagle cuff button, two Spencer casings, camp lead, blanket/tarp brass piece, and a .22 LR bullet. Also a porcelain door knob??? Any help on that would be great! The tiny bullet i have no idea, but i know they made bullets that small during the war but not sure what caliber or type it is, any suggestions. Thanks for looking and i cant wait to take my little good luck charm back out with me!! HH to you all!!

Sounds like a fantastic day, awesome finds!!

Nice scores , you should do a little seeding for him to get him excited about finding stuff thats awesome man !

Cool token! If I saw the back of that token at first I would think I had a seated! Sure, silver is nice but tokens are a more rare find I think.

Very nice stuff buddy

Yes i saw the Eagle and thought for sure it was a Counterfeit Seated Half. But after a little snack break i started rubbing some of the dirt off and saw there was no bust on the obverse and then saw the words that looked like a Store name. Wow a store "toke"!

flyinryan totally awesome post, that token is off the chain. But the pic of your son with the shed antler is priceless. We dig a few of the doorknobs like yours and pure white also. They are worth about a buck wholesale to the shops, they may get two or three beans.

I just found on one site that lists the store card with a date of 1732?? Can anynody give more info on it? Thanks.
