Not bad.

I took some in last month, and the thing had EIGHT percent on it.. ::)

Took it to my bank...

I Forget the name of the Counting Company,
but it was a Flat top Machine.
No Coin Return

Definately not Coin Star.

My Bank was out of the way today & I Wanted
to get it Done so I settled.

I Can also be pretty Confident by Condition,
5% of the coins
won't get back in Circulation Either :tongue3:

The Freidensburg bank in Haven has a coin machine you don't have to have an account and it's free.

I will not give away 5% to 8% either. I clean my coins in my tumbler and then take them to my bank. They don't charge anything to run them through there counter......Matt

My bank has a coin counter and with a youth account its free, so I took my 15 year old in to open an account. He is my metal detecting buddy!

I'v seen the Paranoid Faction
of our Country Call in the Gas-Mask People when
they see Coins like this

Picture 012.jpg

& Send them off
to a lab Hoping to blame it on terrorists.

Cleaned with MouthWash & Rum Turned White
When Dry.

This was another reason I Decided on a Coin Counter.

the Banks Autonmatically Roll Them & Sell them
to the Stores.

The Coin Counters Probably have so many
they ship to the Mint.

Or at least Mix them with Tons of New Coins
making them Less Obvious.

Surprising part I Did get one Cent from the Register when they
paid me that looked Dug & Cleaned Properly :D

Maybe I Should have said "I Don't want this one" :tongue3:

I use my brothers rock tumbler to clean all the clad.
Then once a month or so I walk over to the bank and have them deposited into my (very secret) savings account.
Saving for a sweet medal detector!
Oh yeah don't get all upset, but I make 1.1% for keeping it in there. lol
I know your telling yourself right now "Self, that is big money"
True! I made $0.63 in intrest for 2009

Peace,

Very good Jeff. I took mine to U S Bank. The machine ate some of mine. That probably the 5%, I din't get as much as I figured I had. But I guess better doing it that way than sitting here and putting them all in rolls.

Jeff, not bad. I know that was a nice feeling to cash in that free money. This is the greatest hobby. One gets exercise, beyond the initial investment one doesn't spend much to continue with the hobby, and it's one of the few hobbies that pays you.

I've been throwing my clad in a can for the past 1 1/2 years. I don't know how much I have but I'm just going to continue to fill it and then start a new one soon. When I threw it in the cookie can back in August there was almost a $100. Maybe in 5 or 6 years I will clean it, roll it, and deposit it. But before that I want to take one of those pictures like you see in the magazines with the mountain of change that was found.

I turned in coins to my bank and some of the zinc pennies were only about 70% there, and they accepted every one of them, no way i am paying anyone even 5% for the coins I worked hard to get...lol

Jeff, not a bad take for the year, you don't want to see the amount I found in Clad in 2009 :D But I might take a photo of them and put it in with my best of 09 finds post this week. ;D

We always tumbled our coins and then rolled them and took to the bank, not a bad winter project to do. Back in the 80's when we hunted under the boardwalk in Ocean City a lot we had a nice fishbowl full of clad that went to purchasing our first VCR back then......

i'm not 100% sure, but I seem to recall someone saying that either commerce bank or td bank does not charge a fee to dump your change in their machine. i looked at a coinstar last night and it was 8.9%.
