Tough day...

Busted my coil,got caught in a sleet/snow storm and didn't find the cellar I was looking for. Good thing Minelab just shipped me a new DD coil! All I found was this item which for some reason I think was once part of a musket, it has what looks like flowers engraved on it. Tomorrow is another day so hopefully the next round will go my way. Stay warm out there New England, it's that time of year again. HH

it was cold and wet enough anyway.

Sorry to hear about the machine getting broke, but, grats on the find. We were running our a/c yesterday.....our hunting season is just starting good! This past summer was just to hot to hunt, but, now that God has put the a/c on, it is lovely! Now to find a good place to hunt!!! Don't worry, the ground will always thaw.....eventually!

Definitely looks like a flintlock sideplate with the screw holes broken off. Nice find.

Thanks, Copper #1 this year for me was New Year's day. The woods are good as long as there's not several inches of snow on the ground.

I agree, Minelab has already sent me a packing slip to send the coil back for a brand new one! Very curious and helpful! I gave some feedback on the DD coil mounts being too fragile and today they told me that the issue is under review and a new design is on the drawing board.
