Two hours before sundown, I got the hankering for a hunt. So I grabbed the DEUS and out the back door I went. Made a quick left and I was swinging the coil.
First signal was a sweet sounding tone registering about 7 or 8 inches. Yep,, just a short time later and I'm holding a 1942d Washington. A few feet away, I recovered a toasted wheat penny. I thought for a minute that I might have found the clothesline. Two coins and right away my thoughts are about a clothesline. lol
The only other keeper was a really nice surprise. Up by the barn I got a funny sounding signal and not too deep. Sure enough. Out pops a pocket watch.
Obelisk Watch Co. (Swiss watch)
It's tough when you have to travel all the way to your backyard to get in a hunt.

WTG ATW. Plucking silver from your own yard has got to put a smile on your face. Of course, that's a tough smile. Congrats to you Mister and looking forward to some more yard finds.

NICE ATW...the best I've pulled from my yard was just the little piles of change I've found from coins rolling out of my pockets while working on stuff in my yard that wouldn't fit in my garage...plus I've successfully located the buried dog run post that the wife keeps losing track of. Congrats, here's hoping you never run out of deep, old targets! Ddf

If I found that kind of stuff in my yard I would turn it into a sandbox

When I was I was a little kid, I saw a couple of Outer Limits episodes that had to do with watches and time.
I was real young, and they freaked me out.
Great show growing up in the 60's.
Since then I've always loved finding old watch cases.
That has a killer face to it. I'd be happier with that than the quarter, which is still a sweet find.
Kudos!
Carl
Plus it's the one time you don't ethically have to fill in the holes!

That was easy, the grass on one's own side of the fence is sometimes greener. Congrats on the silver and the watch.

Thanks CD,, When I first saw the face on the pocket watch,, for a second,, l thought it might be a silver dollar in a bezel. I have to try cleaning it a little to see if the face is silver. Wouldn't that be nice
