Hit a very over-hunted old city park today but came up with a few cool finds, but this was the best. If anybody knows anything about this, please post it.

Interestingly, it is two pieces, held together by the chain!

Didn't find this next one today, but I did find it this month. Looks like I'm on an Egyptian trend!

What are the odds of finding 2 Egyptian type finds .... both are cool in the 1st pic at the very bottom is that writing ? Is it possible the base is an old coin ?

Great question about the possible writing. I'm glad you reminded me... I was showing it to my neighbor and he asked me the same question. I intended to take a closer look when I got home, but got busy with other things. It does indeed look like writing. I will take a micro closeup in a minute and post it to see if anyone can make out or make a good guess at what it says. Looks to me like it ends in "IV", so it might be a Roman numeral date.

I should add that the first piece came from a park that used to have a Civil War cemetery (long since moved) and the 2nd one from a mid-1800's homestead.
