to clear some previous propaganda, CR does NOT have universal free medical care (except for children and their mother)
one pays or no treatment - no free emergency care

now Nicaragua does have medical care at no cost, . . . . hard to figure

I am not aware of any refusals (yet) of testing here for the seriously ill with vetted flu type symptoms. Regardless of insurance.

It would seem to be better to diagnose a positive case and have that person self quarantine. With the awareness of their needs (food ect.) should they need assistance acquiring it, than leave them wandering about as unknown carriers.

They closed Ft. Laud & Miami beach today.
The Mayor of Miami told residents today, assume everyone has it!
Our Natl Guard will be helping to set up drive-up and/or walk-up testing sites.
Broward has the highest cluster in Fl.
We'll be sending all those international flight tourists/citizens that came back, some with little or inadequate screening, and all those spring breakers that were down here, back out all over the country!!!!
I'd listen to Ol Kentucky, too. The writing's on the wall.

Here's our local news page, pic a story, any story,
use your common sense & info you have at hand.

eta: Ol Kentucky, I didn't check your links, I was just told this:
"Pat, the first link goes nowhere. The second one apologizes for misinformation due to a hack."
I got no problem with the 1st one. sorry for any confusion.

Don't know why anyone would say it goes nowhere, I had no problem at all with either page. The message at the top of the Worldometer page simply stated this... " We apologize for the temporary disservice that you may have experienced. For about 20 minutes, our site showed clearly incorrect data due to a malicious act. We have investigated the issue and we're now implementing protective measures to prevent this from happening again. The other day we got hit with a big DDoS attack. Now this. We'll continue with our daily efforts and we'll not give up. "

See fer yerself..... ???

Oddly enough, as soon as I tried to log in here to reply, I was given a message that my IP had been banned. Curious that. Someone not want the Truth out there? :icon_scratch:

it would seem that many things could have been done, or done better
and it is the case that there are many unknown carriers

the post mortum will be interesting to evaluate the efficacy of different responses

Tests are free if your uninsured.

Most viruses die out when daytime temperatures start to approach 90s on daily basis which is why influenza is a winter time issue, it appears most virus have problem with warm humid atmosphere, yet unknown if it will happen with Covid19 since it is a new strain, but we don't know it want happen either. Death rate is based only on known cases and some may have it and never develope symptoms other than mild cold symptoms.

If 1.75 million do die as tragic as it is that is still less than 1/2 percent of American population.

How comforting should that thought be if YOU happen to be in that "1/2 percent of American population"?

I had forgot about all the Spring Breakers. :-\

I don't know what the average age is for Treasurenet members, but I hope the ones 65 and older are paying attention.

I live in WA, right in the town where the first cluster occurred. It is eerily quiet. People aren't leaving their homes, and restaurants and shops are all closing down starting tomorrow, so I'm sure there will be a frenzy. It's crazy what it's got to.

The good news: China cases declining sharply.
That was active for under 3 months.
The same will happen here. It should all be over by June.
Except of course for the financial damage to our economy.

Still no TP in the stores here in California, but there's plenty of pine cones in the forest.

Well those in the toilet paper business and paper towels and wipes and disinfectant businesses will not suffer any "financial damage".

Banner year. heh
