These masks or face coverings are Not 100% Covid 19 proof, they Do HELP The Wearers from inhaling from others or exhaling the mist that comes out when we talk, cough or sneeze, but they also help others we come in contact with, more so if others are wearing them. IF they are worn right. I see people wearing them that have them on every which way but the correct way.

Sorry, but it states right on the box they don't protect from the virus. Show me any scientific study that conclusively proves that home made masks do anything. Good luck searching for that one!

If a mask really bothers you going in a store, have your stuff delivered. There is nowhere in this country that doesn't have a church, store or a food pantry that has contacts with volunteers who will deliver and set the stuff on your drive or porch. Or, pick it up curbside and they will load it in your vehicle. Jeez, problem solved.

If I'm in a public store, which is very rarely, I DONT WEAR A HOME MADE MASK. I wear either a surgical mask or the N95's...But I still don't believe I'm completely protected. It's just that I feel somewhat confident that not only am I doing what I can to protect others in case I'm asymptomatic and give myself a little protection from others who give a hoot and those that don't. I also wear wrap sunglasses in public.

Where did you come up with anything I've said regarding 'Home Made Masks'?

As far as I'm concerned on those, if they do not have a full size filter pocket that is used while wearing, they are more of an accessory.

ALL of my stuff IS DELIVERED AND DISINFECTED BEFORE it comes into my home. That's why I said if people can't stand wearing masks...Have What You Need Delivered.

Masks do not bother me, I've been wearing them in public since mid-February. I doubt I've been in a store over 30min tops during the times I've been out. I can hang 30min with a mask, no problem.

If you wanna quote me, please highlight the word or words you change. Thanks!

It goes back to summer/fall of 2019. I’ve been following since mid February China. I remember telling a co-worker late Feb that lockdowns and masks were coming to the US and he thought I was nuts.

Told my wife first week of March we have to stock up on TP lol...

I understand that... BUT... there was NO mention of ANY virus HERE.... in any way shape or form in mid Feb.

Yes we all heard of it OVER THERE... but no "confirmed" cases were in U.S. at that point... even though we NOW know that there were cases all over last year.

No one was wearing masks in February here.

It was not until mid March that we first heard of the possibility of there being a problem.

In fact... it was not even recognized that there might even be a problem at all until March 11 by the WHO.

"On March 11, 2020 the Novel Coronavirus Disease, COVID-19, was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization. On March 13, 2020 a national emergency was declared in the United States concerning the COVID-19 Outbreak".

I bought a case of TP the week prior to announcements and TP grab... this was not because I knew something... this was my norm... always buy everything by the case anyway.

AARC,

The reason I knew it was heading here fast and started wearing a mask in February is because one of my cousins kids got married and honeymooned in Europe for a month, traipsing all over by train and plane.

While there, they would call here talking about everything they had seen and done. The virus of course came up, but not in a lot of detail.....More of talking about it like it was keeping them from doing some things they wanted to do because people were sick. Meanwhile his father was in Hong Kong on business telling them not to come there as planned and he called here to explain in detail why he didn't want them to go to HK and that they should head back stateside ASAP. He was going to and did!

The newlyweds didn't take it so seriously of course, and by the time they did try and return home a tad early, things overseas were getting bad and weird. They flew into JFK and on that flight that was completely full to the point of upgrading people at no extra charge just to get them onboard... as they were doing to a lot of international flights to the US, they heard all the details from people who had been there. Still no dire warnings here.

From JFK they then flew to LAX then to Vegas then here. Over a months timeframe of flying in and out of international airports over there and stateside. No Quarantine then and all these passengers heading in every direction to get home. The other thing was, the Chinese New Year was 1-25 and a lot of Chinese Family Owned businesses close for a month to either go to China or New York to celebrate. Then they all went back to where they lived spreading this.

It turned into a big brew ha-ha for the family and friends in KC who had planned a reception for them. We all knew by then what was going on and how bad it was and how easily it was passed from person to person. Needless to say, there was no reception, they couldn't move to Europe as planned and they were one of the last to get into Alaska from Canada. In a nutshell, that's why I knew so early.

Covid-19 is Nothing to Mess Around With. It Never Just affected the elderly. It doesn't know age. That elderly propaganda came about due to people who worked in places with a lot of older people, the workers would be sick and depending on the care or interaction they were giving, the older folks got it too and it was chalked up to the Virus, pneumonia or natural causes. Mainly the Virus, which gave a false sense of security to people under 65. I don't think we will ever have a true and accurate accounting of the deaths that are actually from Covid-19. There are deaths that are listed as Covid-19 that aren't and listed as natural or pneumonia that are Covid-19.

I was furious the way they were giving so many mixed messages here. They Never should of said Masks protect others more than the wearer and they should of told folks right off to stay away from people they knew who had flown into or worked at international airports whether or not they left the states or not. Planes,Gyms,Salons etc and Hotel/Casinos were still flying, all those businesses were still open and Casino Hotels still serving buffets. I doubt buffets will happen for a long time if ever again. They shut them down in Vegas probably 3-4 weeks before the Casinos here did due to spreading of the virus. There was no deep disinfecting going on anywhere then. Chinese gamblers are a HUGE part of Vegas.

In My Opinion this has been handled a lot like the AIDS Virus. That was called a Gay Man's disease for a long time so people ignored a lot of it because if they weren't in that category, they didn't think it affected them. Until a lot of straight men and women got it along with people who either got blood transfusions or used dirty needles. THEN everyone paid attention and people were finally told the truth about how it spread and nobody was immune to it. Same thing now with Covid-19.

It's sad that it's turned political here in the states. It shouldn't be and personally I don't look at it that way. It's strictly a medical issue as far as I'm concerned. The tragedy is that it will cost more lives and those that get it and don't die will have their organs damaged most likely for life.

Stay Safe,

Kace
