I Amanda, the area that you are in must have rivers ( old trails followed them ) streams, creeks, just remember that just because they don't have water in them now don't mean that they didn't 100 years ago, horshoe bends, in the NE outside corner always seemed to work well for me and look to the top of the near-by hill, county maps works really good forks in waterways seem to work also, usually on the north side or sometimes East side works also, be very careful about your buddy that you chose, never venture alone never get out of cell phone range keep your battery charged and you go girl
