Well, went through two boxes today that my bank ordered for me. One of the teller's casually told me, "don't bring those back" half in good humor and probably serious as well. Got 8 40% out all 2000 coins. The one coin that I found that is strange is a 1985 Kennedy that appears to be at first glance proof. However, it is marked "p." Upon closer inspection someone had stamped 1960 and 1985 on the front. My best guess is someone got a regular 85 "p", made it really shiny somehow by dipping it in something and then stamped a birth and death date of a loved one. Sorry, no picture my camera is dead. What do you guys think?

I got one marked 1960 1980 did some research and seems it was done to mark the 20th anniversary of Kennedy's election and that some marked 1960 1985 to mark the 25th anniversary.

So I guess mine would be for the 25th anniversary. It's obviously not something done by the mint as the dates are crudely stamped on the coin.

Keep in mind that if you try to take your halves to a bank or a casino you are considered a money launderer.
