Two Old Hammer Poll Axes, How old?

Hi there, I found these two hammer poll axes at two old house foundations in Jeffersonville, IN. Both of the houses date back to the late 1700's to the early 1800's. The top axe has a square poll, and the bottom one has a octagon shaped poll. Do any of you have an idea how old they are? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Your time period sounds about right (early/mid 1800s I would guess)!

Thanks for the replies. I know that one of the houses was built in around 1820, but I am unsure how old the other house is. Does anyone know any links that would help me to further date these? Thanks and HH!
