Yep to you GeorgiaSwinger. Jeff Gordan will be there the week before I get there. And do you know of the chain on the south side I mentioned? It's has huge links. Seen it two years ago and wasn't even hunting.

don't know the location of the south jetty. only made two trips there. was out on that end at low tide one day walking with my wife and saw it.

Sorry to tell ya Jeff but on the mid beach ( as they call it ) where you are staying if you metal detect there 99 % of your targets will be pieces of brass / copper they dredged up of the refurbishment !!

yes, but first time i could get wifi and no cell signal at all

did find a ring the first day, but it looks like brass

maybe today? although there is some sort of life guard testing going on and its a big deal

Jeff if the film crew tries to run you off south beach ( to the right of the pier) ask them these two questions:
1. Am I on any of the movies props ?
2. are you filming the movie right now ?

if they say no to both tell them them have no legal authority to run you off the beach.
it is a public beach and yes they have a permit to film but not to shut it down while not filming !!
been there !! even the Mayor of Tybee said so in a TV interview !!

Docked in Savannah for the night. Tybee bound in the morning. So excited I won't be able to sleep tonight looking at the tide charts and calculating my trek. I'll be running on pure adrenaline tomorrow.

good first hunt on Tybee. Pile of copper, two chunks of lead, what looks like a copper handle, a few nails, only two pull tabs, two dimes, three pennies, and a large live round (cal?).
