I had a very elderly friend, who many years ago told me of he and his brother being out breaking a horse, and in the process, his brother got thrown and lost a 10 dollar gold. This was in the mid 1920s.

He said they looked for years for it each time they were in the area, but eventually lost the house during the great depression.

I now have permission to get on this land and detect, and am excited to go look for this, and get it to his Grandson provided that I could find it.

No doubt this is a true story, and I have never found an Eagle, only a couple of 1 dollar golds.

Hopefully, i will be able to find it. area is badly trashed in the years since.

Will be using the new Equinox 900 to search.

Research says it will logically read a TID of 65, so what I would do is set the range on the 900 to 63-to-67 ONLY, and run with it, in the area around where he was thrown. It will speed up the recovery. No sense in seeing any other TID numbers. Dig them all in that range.

Thank you for this valuable information. Not at all aquainted with the 900 as of yet, so I have a lot to learn with it.
