There were 3 tiers to this bluff, of course modern names and dates (1910-now) carved into the stone, but the it was used a long, long time ago too. We were wondering about this arrangement of rocks. The ring of stones in the foreground is a recent campfire, but how about the big rocks? They kind of looked placed that way to make an oven? They undoubtedly fell from the ceiling above, and maybe just happened to land that way, but it sure looks contrived. This bluff is probably 40-50' tall, and from the water you could zig-zag your way to the top. At some point someone laid about 12 stone steps. Hey Buckshot! turn around and wave to the people! :hello:

Hi steve71, no we didn't do any digging or sifting, didn't have permission....yet. But I don't think anyone else has dug there either. Had a good laugh about Buckshot lighting one up, but no he wasn't, and won't. I think he was trying not to fall off the ledge.

the water is at a normal level jpitt, during drought it might drop a little, but in the picture that's normal.

That place looks beautiful. I can imagine people enjoying that place since the beginnings of time. Very nice pictures.
