UPDATE ~ found a 1903 Indian Head Cent while at lunch!

I went to my favorite local park today during my lunch hour (Skinner Butte Park in Eugene Oregon). I found a 1903 Indian Head cent and some clad. Not bad for less than an hour of detecting!

So I go back to this same spot tonight after work and I end up finding one more Indian hear cent, and three Wheat cents . . . . all of which are so badly corroded that I can't make out any dates! Plus, I dug a cool old pocket knife with the name BYRON TAYLOR etched into the handle! COOL!!!

I put the other Indian Head cent in the rock tumbler along with several other Lincoln Cents to try cleaning it up a little. I can actlually see the date now ~ 1901

I guess the clad would be appetizers and the Indian an entree. Go back tomorrow and see what else is on the menu.

I know there's more there! Back in March our club had an outing there ~ I dug a 1909-S Wheat cent, 1946 Roosy Dime, and a 1901-S Barber Half dollar!

I'd love to see what you could pull out of there! YOU THE MAN!!!

Congrats on that Indian!! I enjoy finding old knives, but most are too damaged to repair.

I put the other Indian Head Cent in the rock tumbler along with several other pre-1982 copper Lincoln cents to clean it up. It cleaned up enough to make out the date! 1901!!
