Hey Todd nice finds!
I found a Chinese coin along side some rail road tracks that looks just like yours.
I was told that this type of Chinese coin was used a lot for decoration on some kind of
baskets they use to make. But I have know solid evidence of that.

the skeleton key & coins were found in central California,in an area that use to have one of the largest Chinese communities during the California gold rush era, there is also an old temple nearby from the 1850's - 1880's

The nice thing about the Marines being Department of the Navy was that all the old, used, hand me down stuff looked brand new. Squids. What can ya do? Nice medallion. I love it.

You got it all wrong, there is a male and female species of all creatures on earth, the Marine's are the male part of the navy
