Hi just thought that i would show you my collection of us coins, the oldest is only 30 years old ,i suppose they were lost by visiting serviceman&women nothing of real value but just shows you what you can find.
Cheers Raoul
Many years ago as a young U.S. Soldier I took R&R in your beautiful country. To tell the truth I was having to much fun to remember if I lost any coins. Best of Luck & Good Hunting. trk5capt...
Aussie coins before 1966 and after.
Before 1966 we had pounds shillings and pence after 1966 we went Decimal currency, sorry i haven't any pre 1966 paper money to show you.
Top row, left to right. Half Penny..Penny..3Pence..6Pence..Shilling..Florin or better known as 2 Shillings
Bottom row L/R 5 Cents..10 Cents.. 20 Cents..50 Cents $1 Dollar..$2 Dollars
The Aussie 50 cents piece is bigger than the dollar and the two dollar piece is smaller than the dollar, maybe if our coins, U.S. coins were like those we would have bigger finds here, since smaller coins are most times lost more often than larger.
Like those Roo coins.

I spent a week in Malta once and they were using the British system of currency at the time (1965). I never did figure it out! I would just hold out my hand with a bunch of their money and let them take what they wanted! No idea if I ever got ripped off? I was stationed in Libya at the time where they used piasteres....one million to the a American dollar. After a shopping trip to Tripoli, I had so many coins I could hardly keep my pants up! I traded all that for MPCs and got less than 5 bucks back! Monty
I know, i once saw some US coins selling on ebay from a foreign country and other foreigners were buying them lol. Thats the same as people saving canadian coins from cange, they arent worth anything...
