We were just celebrating this M.E.G. thanks for posting!

12,000 roads still open to the public in Utah. 10,000 miles of free travel. This will change a lot of the relationships with the public and private land stewards in Utah. Not so much in all other States but huge for Utah.

Not often mentioned is that this right to travel the public ways on the public lands was one of the rights granted in the 1866 Mining Act and incorporated in the 1872 Mining Act.
SEC. 8. And be it further enacted, That the right of way for the construction of highways over public lands, not reserved for public uses, is hereby granted.

This is a huge decision for the folks in Utah and much of the West. I hope the Department of Interior gets the message this time and cooperates in assisting the people to exercise their rights to travel the public lands.

Does this mean we can legally drive around their boulders and plowed up ground? Or do they have to repair the Mess first ?

It appears that if the State of Utah and the counties succeed all the way through the appeals processes and the Federal Courts, this could put teeth in similar lawsuits being brought by other Western States and Counties and eventually re-open up some roads into and through historical Gold Mine and Mining locations. This would be a blessing to Claim owners and Gold Prospectors in the West.
