Vacant Lot in Collin County

Well I found this old lot some time ago, been looking for land owner, but no luck. So went to location to play around and just see what was there. My first hit turned up a modern penny..nothing exciting but a find never the less. The 2ND hit was a bit different, located a belt buckle and a 1/4, and i kept getting pings of more coins in same spot. I dug down to around 5 inches and the ground gave way to a large void/hole i could not see the bottom but still kept getting hits from it. So i will have to explore this some more now and take a flashlight. Hole dropped a good length i reached in but could not find the bottom. Curious as to what is there now. Might need help with this one. I plan to return to this site in morning if any one is wanting to go along. I do know it was a old farm site.

Anyway here is pics of what i found in about 45 minutes nothing impressive for my 1st find, but it better then nothing at all.

That was my wife and kids that stopped by this afternoon.

Will have to swing by, we've got a flashlight or two laying around.

Great looking finds Silenthunter! :icon_thumright: It sounds like this is a promising site.
I wonder if you might have found a well that has sunk after being filled in? :icon_scratch:

Resized your picture, hope you don't mind?

Re: Vacant Lot in Collin County

Myself and couple of others returned to the location today, we investigated the hole in the ground, and determined it to be some type of manhole. The tones i kept hitting where from a large copper pipe about 6 inches in diameter and about 2 feet long. The hole was reinforced by a concrete wall. We searched for a hour or so, found lots of trash, and debris. We did find a old storm cellar that was covered with dirt. This might unveil something, but will need to do some more research to get permission to dig it out.

All in all it might be a good site if we can weed thru all the trash and iron.

Thanks for re size on pics, haven't worked that one out yet on my PC.
