Hi Everyone.

My father has just handed me down a pocket watch that his uncle gave to him about 50 years ago before he died. I consider this a family air loom so i will be passing this down the line when i pass on. For insurance sake i am wanting a value of the watch and if anyone here can date it that would be fantastic. from the research i have done i think it is 1900 - 1920. The case is 14k fine 585 over 1000 gold. if i have left anything out please let me know and i will be more than happy to answer any questions.

Cheers Sasnz

From what I'm finding I'm thinking 1915ish...

I'm not adding any pictures or links because frankly, I'm not finding the exact watch. But I'm getting close with serial numbers and make/model type stuff.

Waltham watches are all over the internet!

Hi Montana.

Funnely enough i cant find the same watch either. I had a real good search about 3 months ago when i got it but could never find anything the same. 2 differences i noticed was the face design and the clasp around the screw to adjust the watch. thanks for your help anyhow.

A watch repair shop will get you close with an estimate... do NOT take it to a pawn shop for any estimates.

Good luck!

Hi montana

My father took it into a jeweler to have it appraised and he said it was worth the gold contaent, this was 20yrs ago. I live in New Zealand so i dont think we have the expertise here to be able to value it properly hence why i am asking on this forum.

Cheers Sasnz

i was thinking 2,200...it is in exceptional shape..do not take it anywhere!
there are few people who even know how to handle such a fine piece anymore.

this site has one for 2,500....check it out, scroll down.
