Yes, it looks like a Colonial wedding bad. Often, people could not afford real gold wedding bands. So it was common back then to wear plated copper bands marked as gold. More valuable if it has a design or a name/provenance, engraved on the inside. Still a cool find and likely worth more than most costume jewelry.

It's most likely a modern fake. Really old jewelry was rarely marked with purity karat stamp.

Sorry Jason, but they were definately marking up copper plated (gold) rings with 18K in the late 19th C. Pretty common find actually.
