I was planning to do a Saturday morning road trip after my trip while waiting for my parents to drop off my kids, but I was out late Friday night and forgot to set an alarm so I didn't wake up until it was too late to do much. So I just drove down to a bank in a small town about 15 miles away that I occasionally buy bags from and have done okay. Also stopped at a few banks on the way.
Bank #1:
Picked up 1 box of nickels and 1 box of dimes
Bank #2:
Picked up $60 in hand rolled halves...skunk
Bank #3:
They only had a single half dollar which I left there.
Bank #4 (my primary stop):
Picked up the following
1 - $500 bag of dimes
3 - $100 bags of nickels
4 - $50 bags of pennies
And while at this bank I cashed back in the $60 in halves and while they machine was counting I could hear silver in the bag. I asked if I could exchange for a couple of halves since I had 5 more in the car, she said wure so I ended up with 4 - 40% as well (1968-D(2), 1969-D(2)). She also put my name down to buy the half dollar bag once it is full.
Last night I went through all $400 of nickels but didn't post them as we had a pretty good lightning show going on at that time so I didn't want to be on the computer.
