Was hoping to boost the old nickel total today but was surprised when the first target I dug turned out to be a nice 1918-D mercury dime. Crazy conditions for this time of the year. No snow, warm temperatures with lots of rain have the parks looking like swamps. As soon as you dig, the hole fills up with water. More like early Spring conditions. Temps turning colder so when it freezes up, the parks will be one big block of ice soon ! No old nickels today but I did dig at least 10 Jefferson's. That might have been the last hunt for this year but at least I ended the season with some silver.
