I'd sure hate for some new THer to get discouraged about this fine hobby simply because of poor batteries.

Here's a tip for those who may just be getting started...watch your batteries! Batteries make or break most detectors.

Oh sure, even when they're down too low that machine will hummmmm. But what you don't realize is you've lost your depth and/or sensitivity.

I use the Tesoro products and love them (DeLeon, Tejon, Cibola). However, let the batties get down too far and I might as well go back to the screen and shovel!

They say Tesoros are good for 50 hours if you use headphones...ya right! Try maybe 15 hours.

I've used lots of brands over the years and they're all the same. They require all the power fresh batteries can give for maximum efficiency.

As batteries drain, your depth and sensitivity is going down.

Carry extra fresh batteries with you at all times and after about 10 to 15 hours replace them.

You may be shocked at how this will increase finds. ;)
