I, although, tend to hit water with the trusted ATPro in early fall. Water still warm and kids are back in school. Less, questions like, "watchya lookin' for", etc. (Inland beaches)

Your in Mass..some of the best water hunting to be had up there... And Don't cut the winter short.. As crazy as it sounds..It is the best as long as the water is not frozen...

Good article (blog) water hunting is my go to in the summer. AT Gold works for me as I hunt fresh water lakes and river beds.
