how water can afect or benefit a treasure hunt? well unfortunately seems to be like no one has manufacture a water detector yet, but we can assure that metal detectors are not affected by water or water tables, or because there is water inside the soil, even getting the land or soil wet on purpose or by any water quantity, but of course the prospector must to know that water is a electricity conductor, and it will help us because it will help to locate targets easily, specially metal mass, and will assure to prospectors that their metal detector perform way better in humid or wet lands or yards, soils, etc, if u had ever looked for a treasure or cache in a place were some one assure to have one or assure to know the details about having one near by, and your metal detector couldn't not find it. get that place totally wet as much water you can dump to it and wait 2 to tree days to let the water penetrate the land and Re prospect the area, with your metal detector, if the cache exist, you will have big chances of finding it.
good luck folks and hope to come back more often to this awesome forum.:tongue3:
